A Cumbrian tradition
With the county’s farming heritage comes a long tradition of hand-making cheese. The years of practice have resulted in a huge variety of fantastic cheeses to choose from, and so we specialise in stocking Cumbrian made cheeses. These stand out in a cheese range, which incorporate cheeses from across the UK and some from around the world.
To complement our cheeses we stock a fine range of locally sourced chutneys, pickles, jams and crackers.
Our shop is bursting at the seams with a huge choice of quality local and British products, including lots of gift ideas. Everything we stock is given our seal of approval ensuring you won’t be disappointed.
Our range of cheeses
Our local Cumbrian cheeses come from cheese makers at Thornby Moor Farm at Wigton, the award-winning Appleby Creamery in The Eden Valley and The Lake District Cheese Company from Aspatria.
From further afield we have artisan cheeses made in Lancashire, including Butlers Farm (makers of Blengdale Blue and Cobble Tasty), and Sandham’s (makers of the ever popular organic range Kendal Creamy and Kendal Crumbly). From Yorkshire we have an extensive range of cheeses from The Hawes Wensleydale Creamery, including their fantastic Jervaulx Blue.
Our UK wide cheese include the excellent Colston Bassett Blue Stilton and Garlic Yarg.
We have also picked out some fantastic international cheeses, which include an excellent Parmesan Reggiano, Peccorino, Manchego and French raclette.
Our whole range of well over 90 cheeses covers both pasteurised and unpasteurised, cow’s milk and the increasingly popular range of ewes and goats milk cheeses, especially popular with allergy sufferers.
Cooked meats and charcuterie
As well as cheese, Cumbria’s farms are known for their delicious meats. The obvious choice for a cheese partner, we stock locally made meats which you’ll love as part of a cheese platter, in a sandwich, or alongside a salad.

We make up food hampers all year round. They make the perfect present to give for all sorts of occasions, not only for Christmas but for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and they are the perfect gift to say ‘thank you’.

Our wedding and special occasion cakes are our pride and joy. A cheese cake is one with a difference, ideal for a wedding couple without a sweet tooth or looking for something memorable. We’ll deliver, arrange and decorate your display on one of our beautiful natural wood cheese boards. These are cakes that really stand out!
